Parents' Evening and Engagement
At TGMS, we believe a successful partnership with parents is fundamental in enabling an effective and unmissable education. As our partners, we ask you to support us in our endeavours to help your child be equipped to flourish in life, with the right skills, knowledge and mindset.
Parents’ Evenings are a vital opportunity to learn about your child’s progress and hear our professional recommendations concerning support at home. However, we actively promote our Parental Engagement Model which encourages parents to have an active say in their child's education both now and moving forward. Research shows that the principles in the 'Parental Engagement with Pupil's Learning' box help achieve better outcomes for learners - it's the partnership we hope to achieve with all of our parents.
In-Person SEN Support Plan Meetings Summer Term 2024
We will be holding our SEN Support Plan meetings on Wednesday 1st May, from 3.30-5.15 pm. The booking system will open on Thursday 18th April.
In-Person Parents Evening. Spring Term 2024
As detailed in our Parents’ and Carers’ Survey Report, the area with a significant reduction in the respondents’ perception of effectiveness was the school's reporting to parents strategy (75%, down from 83% last year). Also, many written comments demonstrated the strength of feelings of the respondents who do not think our current strategy is effective. Considering TGFS (our most significant feeder school) has moved back to in-person meetings, we can only predict further reductions in the perception of effectiveness.
Therefore, to make the parent experience smooth and purposeful, we have decided that the Spring Term Parents’ Evenings on the 13th and 18th of March will be in person, held in school.
