Good evening everyone! Here is our final evening update from Liddington, and it is a real mixture of emotions and energy levels at this point in the week.
In so many ways, the pupils have hit a whole new level of confidence over the last 24 hours. We are seeing such fantastic growth in their independence, whether they are managing their own time, navigating around the site, or, as of this afternoon, tackling the monumental task of packing their own bags! We can't help but feel it has been excellent training for secondary school.
That being said, the week is definitely catching up with them! Waking up for breakfast this morning revealed many a bleary eye and plenty of half-asleep shuffling. Ask them about the exact time we had to be down for breakfast when they get home... 7:11 (we're sorry!). Yet, once fuelled for the day, they locked right back in and set off into another brilliant set of activities, generating countless more stories of bravery, teamwork, and genuine kindness.
A fantastic disco this evening, followed by our final Stars of the Day presentations, crowned a wonderful last full day. We are really looking forward to our final activities tomorrow morning before we head home.
Please note: Keep an eye out for our ETA email tomorrow. We will send this to you as soon as we leave the site, which we expect to be between 2:00pm and 2:30pm.
See you all tomorrow afternoon, and enjoy the photos.

Good evening everyone! We honestly cannot believe how fast the time is flying - we are already at our middle day!
The themes of bravery and adventurousness have continued in full force today. We have seen so many children going above and beyond their own perceptions of their limits. Whether they were climbing to new heights, giant-swinging through the air, working brilliantly as a team, or even bravely trying new foods at dinner... they are throwing themselves into every single challenge. And perhaps most impressively of all, they are still (mostly..!) organising themselves and keeping their rooms tidy!
We are so, so proud of how they are conducting themselves, and we know you will be too. Bring on Thursday and our last full day of activities.
Please enjoy today's photos here.

Hello again everyone! Day 2 has been absolutely terrific, and the energy around the group is just great. Tonight, we held a favourite TGMS PGL tradition: awarding our Stars of the Day just before bedtime. This is where we celebrate two or three pupils in each group who have truly stood out. As the staff shared their nominations, two key themes were repeated again and again:
Bravery and Courage: Children facing personal fears and accomplishing things they honestly never thought they could achieve. (Hopefully, you'll see glimpses of this determination and pride in the photos!)
Uplifting Teamwork: Pupils constantly encouraging, supporting, and loudly celebrating the successes of their friends.
They have been just brilliant today, and you should be incredibly proud of them all.
Finally, a massive thank you to all of you at home for remembering to pack those raincoats — we actually had to put them to good use during our evening activities tonight! It didn't dampen any spirits, though. Please enjoy the latest batch of photos, here.

Good evening everyone. I am currently sitting out in the corridor, getting ready for what I hope will be a relatively short night on 'patrol', ensuring our very excited (yet definitely more tired than they realise) children get some much-needed rest before tomorrow's adventures. I know how excited you all must be at home waiting for news, so I am delighted to report that our first day has been incredibly smooth, happy, and packed with energy. The children have acclimatised well to the site, rooms are organised, and I can confirm that beds have actually been made! We’ve already tackled our first round of activities, with so many of the children showing fantastic resilience in some of the big PGL challenges, including the abseiling, zip-line, and vertical challenge. They have been absolute credits to TGMS today.
Please enjoy the first batch of photos here to see their brilliant smiles for yourselves, with more updates to follow tomorrow!

To link with our Geography topic, we had a year group trip to the Living Rainforest. We explored the glass houses, on the lookout for incredible plants and creatures that we had started to learn about. We saw some incredible reptiles and birds and eagerly sought out the elusive sloth, who was hiding up in the canopy when we visited. Particular highlights were the blue poison dart frogs and the fascinating armadillo! We were able to identify how plants were adapted to their environment, from having vast surface areas, to cleverly designed ‘drip tips’ to ensure water flows smoothly off their surfaces. Everyone had a wonderful day and it is amazing to experience ‘Amazon-like’ conditions without leaving England!
To link with our Geography topic, studying the rainforests of Brazil, we had the exciting opportunity to have a dance workshop. We talked about the importance of Carnival and looked at colourful costumes worn in Rio. As you can see, we got the opportunity to wear some sparkly head-dresses of our own! Our teachers were delighted with how we all through ourselves into it, learning Samba, funk and African combinations that have made Carnival Dance so unique!
